Approached with helping Gate 11 create a label for a new, smaller bottle size, I didn't want to give them ideas that were too similar or far removed from their existing branding and label designs. To keep a consistency with the larger volume labels and maintain all legally required packaging copy, most textual elements were carried over. With the vast size difference between the old and the new bottle volumes, I focused on using minimal elements arranged to reflect the labeling of older tonics and early consumer-packaged alcohols. Each type of alcohol Gate 11 produces is already assigned a standard color and a simple shape within their branding, and we utilized them to frame the "11" and provide simple identifiers to be able to identify the contents of the bottle even when viewed from a distance.
